Atlus has released the full trailer for Hexyz Force, the upcoming PlayStation Portable role-playing game with two complete adventures packed right in.

It looks gorgeous, boasts more than 50 hours of gameplay, 20 minutes of anime cutscenes, and two complete stories for each of the game's main characters. Developed by Riviera and Knights in the Nightmare developer Sting Entertainment, Hexyz Force sounds like the perfect game for PSP-owning RPG fans.

I just wish Atlus could do something about the name. Like Yggdra Union, Hexyz Force just doesn't seem like the sort of name that'll catch the purchaser's eye at a retail outlet.

Am I wrong? Are you folks drawn to strange, unpronounceable video game names, or are they something you'd pass right over?

Oh, and for the record, it's pronounced "Hex-ease."

Atlus and Sting Team For New RPG Hexyz Force, from the studio that developed Yggdra Union.

Atlus and developer Sting are teaming up for a new fantasy RPG. Titled Hexyz Force, the upcoming PSP title was unveiled in this week's Famitsu. Hexyz Force is set in a world split between light and dark and follows the exploits of Hexyz, heroes who have inherited the power of the gods. You take control of one of two characters: Elena or Revant. Depending on your selection, the game's world, story, and characters change, although it appears that the two will meet up at some point towards the latter part of the story. The game's battle system is command and turn based. You send out three characters from your party, positioned in front, middle, and back lines on the field. As you fight, you build up a Force Burst Gauge, which can be used to unleash powerful special attacks. There's more to the game than just combat, though. Your actions affect the balance of the game's world, and depending on this balance, the game's ending will change. Japan can look forward to Hexyz Force on November 12. A release outside of Japan has yet to be announced.

Built from the ground up to take full advantage of the power of PSP system, extensively optimized to deliver virtually non-existent load times, and boasting some of the most polished visuals and sounds found to date in a handheld RPG, Hexyz Force is the consummate gamer's game, the kind of experience and final package genre fans would make if they could call the shots.
