Neo Geo Heroes Ultimate Shooting throws a bunch of popular SNK characters into the middle of a top-down shmup that somehow involves a stolen time machine. Ten characters from six different franchises have been confirmed so far:

* Athena Asamiya from Psycho Soldier / The King of Fighters

* Kula Diamond from The King of Fighters
* Iroha from Samurai Shodown VI
* SYDIII from Armored Scrum Object
The game also makes use of the PSP's widescreen via a horizontally-oriented mode where the d-pad is used to control the player ship and the analog stick is used for attacks. It also comes with a port of the arcade and XBLA title KOF SkyStage accessible via the game's SkyStage mode.
